The sequel to Debating Our Destiny: 40 Years of Presidential Debates, Jim Lehrer’s critically acclaimed 2000 documentary, Debating Our Destiny II explores how presidential debates in American democracy can both salvage struggling campaigns and wound presumptive favorites, all through the eyes of the candidates who participate in them. The one-hour documentary features some of the most compelling debate exchanges in recent history, plus exclusive interviews with former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney, as well as John Kerry, John Edwards, and Joe Lieberman.
In the last six presidential elections, Jim Lehrer has served as a moderator for eleven of the nationally televised debates among the candidates.
